Moondog Matinee


Release: Soul/blues-infused rock quintet, Moondog Matinee, release “Ghost Dime” from their forthcoming sophomore album, Carry Me, Rosie, due out this summer. Already taking their hometown of Reno by storm, the band have been selected as a Red Bull Sound Select artist, performed at the Inaugural Life is Beautiful Music Festival in Las Vegas, NV and have been voted the “Best Band in Northern Nevada” by the Reno News and Review.


Developing organically through a network of friends and local musicians, Moondog Matinee formed in 2010 and grew into its current formation which includes Peter Barnato (vocals, guitar, keys), Steve Widmer(guitar), Drea Ballard (guitars, backing vocals), Ben Ingle (drums) and Adam Carpenter (bass, backing vocals). After solidifying the line-up, Moondog Matinee hit the ground - running, writing, recording and touring as much as possible. In 2011, they released their debut album, Vacancy at the Wonder Lodge and embarked on their first west coast tour. Touring extensively from 2012 to 2014, the band returned to Reno to record their follow-up album Carry Me, Rosie. Channeling the vibes of 60s and 70s rock ‘n’ roll like Creedence Clearwater Revival and Neil Young as well as contemporary blues, folk and rock artists such as Jack White, The Black Keys and Dr. Dog.
