Fierce Bad Rabbit
Fusing together melodic strands of indie/alternative effects with a rock foundation, Fierce Bad Rabbit creates a unique sound that travels through poignant lyrics and pop-infused tunes to gritty pieces showcasing front man Chris Anderson’s well-honed style of songwriting. Evolving from their formation in 2009, Fierce Bad Rabbit has grown from Northern Colorado roots, blending together four strong musical talents from different genres.
Comprised of core members, Chris Anderson (lead vocals, guitar), from Fort Collins, CO and now residing in Boston, Alana Rolfe (viola, vocals) from Lamoni, Iowa, Max Barcelow (drums/percussion/vocals) from Edina, MN, and Dayton Hicks (bass guitar), from Dothan Alabama, Fierce Bad Rabbit's sound is reminiscent of Arcade Fire, Delta Spirit , The Shins, The National, and Wilco. FBR had a fortuitous start in early 2009. Having just returned from West Africa for a trip with his wife in the Peace Corps , Anderson had stockpiled a series of songs he wanted to record and met Rolfe and Hicks from previous bands in Fort Collins. the band formally united just days before their first EP, Black and White EP, on June 25th, 2009 at Road 34. generating buzz around Colorado scene, the foursome spread their wings and began touring in October of that year through the midwest, then ventured out to the west and east coasts. Fierce Bad rabbit has released three more albums, Spools of Thread in October 2010, Live And Learn EP in November 2011, and most recently, The Maestro and the Elephant. The band has grown into a collective of raw and unbridled ambitions mixed with a strong sensibility for keeping their sound fresh and progressive.
