Mika Hary

A native of Israel, singer-songwriter Mika Hary started playing the piano at the age 6, and has since impressed her peers and fans alike with her flowing musicality. Mika has performed extensively through Israel and around New York City. As part of her mandatory military service, Mika was chosen as a lead singer in the IDF orchestra where she performed for foreign dignitaries and received a special “outstanding musician” status from the Israeli Ministry of Education. Upon release from the army, Mika participated in the Israeli version of “American Idol” where she placed in the top 12 contestants. Upon graduating with honors from the renowned New School in NYC, Mika has collaborated and toured the US with Yoni Rechter, an all-time favorite Israeli composer, who has helped shaping the face of Israeli music in the last few decades. Mika has performed at prestigious venues around New York including the Rose Theater (Jazz at Lincoln Center), City Winery, Cornelia Street CafĂ©, Rockwood Music Hall as well as at the Bern Jazz Festival in Switzerland. In addition to leading her own group, Mika has collaborated with many great artists including Ziv Ravtiz, Omer Klein, Avishai Cohen and David Broza. 

Mika Hary released her new video of her performing "My Letter to You", a track off of her upcoming debut album (title TBD). Filmed at the Peter Karl Studio in Brooklyn, New York during the recording of Hary's new album, the "My Letter to You" video was shot in one take featuring Hary performing solo on vocals and piano. She is set to release her debut album in early 2014.
