The LoveHowl

The four howlers consist of front woman/guitarist Amy Sheehan, guitarist Alex Sherba, drummer Jonathan Vergara, and bassist Jonah Durning-Hammond.

Front woman Amy Sheehan moved to New York in 2004 initially to attend NYU Tisch, to later receive her BFA in Drama. Along the way she began writing/performing as a solo acoustic artist. While searching for supporting musicians, she met Alex Sherba. They played together for about a year with a full backing band. regrouping, Sheehan and Sherba searched for a new drummer Jonathan Vergara. In 2011 Sheehan released a 6 song EP Insane Concoction, which served as the beginnings of The LoveHowl sound. The record quickly caught the attention of LoveCat Music, and the track "I Don't Know Why" was later featured in the Season 4 finale of the FX series Justified. In 2012 Amy, Alex and Jonathan met the last piece to the puzzle - Jonah Durning-Hammond, who had just moved to NY from the Delta, and thus The LoveHowl was born. Their first release was a double sided single in march 2013 leading up to their debut 5-song EP The Chase in November, which was self-recorded at Pancake Studios.

Similar to their generations' blue/alt rock favorites like The Black Keys, Grace Potter and The Nocturnals, and Deer Tick, The LoveHowl brings their fresh take on classic dirty rock. They've conquered notable NYC venues, including Rockwood, Piano's, The Knitting Factory and Arlene's Grocery, instigating spontaneous dance parties from inspired howlers.
