Nick Stefanacci

(New York, NY) Pop Fusion Saxophonist, Nick Stefanacci has one focus; being the greatest.  Brought up in a musical family, Stefanacci began playing the sax at 10 years old.  In high school, his affinity for music and the saxophone flourished.  By age 16 he was performing out.  His first gig was with the then rising southern rock guitarist, Derek Trucks (The Allman Bros and Tedeschi Trucks Band).  After that night, Stefanacci knew what his future was.  After graduating college with a degree in music performance and music education, Stefanacci began teaching high school band.  Quickly realizing that teaching was not his true passion, Stefanacci began writing his first solo album, "26 Years."  While teaching, performing as a sideman, Stefanacci also began leading his own band.  Coining his sound/genre as Pop Fusion, Stefanacci can be compared to Maceo Parker meets Steely Dan. A large band, featuring sizzling horns, funk grooves, jazz harmonic structures and every so often using a vocalist to bring a little more Pop to his unique instrumental sound.
